48 Hours in Galway – Your First Evening

Céad Mile Fáilte go Gaillimh – a hundred thousand welcomes!

Before settling in for the night to get ready for a day of exploring, why not make your first night a traditional one in Tigh Neachtains (https://www.tighneachtain.com)? Tigh Neachtains was founded in 1894 and since then it has seen some of Ireland’s most famous musicians perform their music, including Sharon Shannon, Kevin Hough, Breda Smyth, Brian Lennon and many more. They have scrumptious traditional pub food and no matter what drink you are looking for, whether that is a small town craft beer or rare, vintage whiskey, you will find it at this well-stocked bar! The best thing about this musical institution is that the team there are amazing supporters of the local culture, festivals and groups, and majority of their musicians are locals themselves so there is no better place to get started on your exploration of Galway. The building used to be home to prominent animal rights activist Richarde Martin, just in case you didn’t love the sound of it enough!

Get some rest and be ready for a fun filled 48 hours of exploring…
